The 18th reported homicide of the year in St. Paul is a man who police say was found fatally wounded outside an apartment building at University Avenue and Griggs Street.
Someone inside the 1222 Apartments made the call about shots fired around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday.
"What we do need is somebody to call us and tell us what they know, or witnessed, out there," said St. Paul police Sgt. Mike Ernster. "They can remain anonymous, but we do need people to let us know what they know about this incident."
There are no arrests reported.
Investigators remain at the scene, which is across the street from Gordon Park High School.
Police say it appears the shooting is not connected in any way to the school.
There is no identification of the victim.
