No one was injured when shots were reportedly fired near a door at the Southdale Center shopping mall Wednesday night, according to the Edina Police Department.

Several agencies responded around 8 p.m. to door 8 on the north side of the mall by Macy's and determined there was no active shooter. They did find bullet casings and damaged windows.

The mall was put into lockdown for about an hour as police searched the mall for victims. Edina police wrote in a press release that there were no victims found inside the mall, or at local hospitals.

It was just before 9 p.m. when people locked down in the mall started to come out of the lockdown and return to their vehicles. Police and other first responders were located at each of the mall's main entry and exit points throughout the hour-long search.

Edina police said there was no threat to the public. They are interviewing witnesses and reviewing security footage to determine what exactly happened.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Edina Police Department.
