A court appearance this morning for an Oakdale man charged in connection to the alleged sexual abuse of a teenage girl.
48-year-old Andrew Olson and his 46-year-old wife Angeline are both charged in the case after a 14-year-old girl was found in a cardboard box in their home.
Police searched for the teen after she left school without permission on May 26. She was later spotted by a neighbor outside the Olson's home early the next morning.
According to the criminal complaint, Maplewood police started investigating the couple after the teen was reported missing from school May 26. The girl's father told police she could be at the Oakdale home of her friend, whose parents are the Olsons.
Police say the couple were argumentative with police, but eventually gave them permission to search the home.
That's when investigators found the 14-year-old in a cardboard box under a pile of clothes.
The complaint says investigators also found electronic devices, as well as sexually explicit videos of the couple and the victim on Andrew Olson's phone.
Andrew Olson is charged with possession of child sexual abuse material and soliciting a child to engage in sexual conduct.
Angeline appeared in court Wednesday on similar charges, including criminal sexual conduct.
