Investigators suspect an off-duty St. Cloud police officer was under the influence of alcohol when he drove his pickup into the back of a transit bus in Apple Valley earlier this week.
44-year old Ryan Ebert is in critical condition and those close to him say he is not expected to survive.
The crash happened shortly before 10:00 p.m. Monday night on northbound Highway 77.
In a search warrant, a trooper who arrived on the scene noted an obvious odor of alcohol coming from Ebert, who was unconscious.
An online fundraiser indicates Ebert has two teenage children.
