A protest followed a workplace death at the Menards in the west metro area of Minneapolis on Thursday.

The accident happened about 10 a.m. Thursday at the Menard's on Wayzata Boulevard in Golden Valley.

Police say a 19-year-old worker was pinned when a pallet of lumber fell on the forklift he was operating.

Hours after the accident, a group of people, some claiming to be family members of the victim, showed up and demanded that the store be closed.

A woman who said he was the victim's sister says he wasn't trained to use the forklift.

A large law enforcement presence showed up to keep the peace.

Menards says the victim was certified to use the forklift.

OSHA is working to find out what exactly happened.
