It's not enough to be one of the world's biggest pop stars. And selling out the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul over two nights. You might as well foster a dog while you're at it.
But a Twin Cities-based pet rescue group made a star-studded match this week when an email from what looked to be from megastar Pink's camp came in through The Bond Between's website (formerly Secondhand Hounds). Founder and Executive Director Rachel Mairose says one of her coworkers did a little sluething.
"And she's like, I think this is legit. So we pursued it and within, you know, four hours we're meeting Pink at the Xcel Energy Center," Mairose explained.
She says at that point, it was all over.
"There were several puppies she was looking at but it ended up working out, and she said as soon as they saw Graham's face, they knew," Mairose told WCCO Radio's Laura Oakes. "They were like, that's the one."
Graham Cracker is an Aussie mix, and Pink talked all about him in her first show at the Xcel Energy Center Thursday night telling the crowd he was in her dressing room, likely peeing all over the place.
Pink adds that the plan was to foster him through the rest of her tour this fall and then find Graham Cracker a new, forever home, while also hinting that it very well may end up being her home.
Pink is an avid animal rescue advocate and has helped connect local shelter pets with loving families during her past tours as well.
