A true sign of sportsmanship was on display in Saturday's Class 3A Section 8 football championship game at the Fargodome in North Dakota.

Something every athlete has experienced, a muscle cramp, hit Dilworth-Glyndon's Donovan Verdi while the game was going on.

Seeing Verdi in pain, Luke Newman of Fergus Falls helped to alleviate the pain by stretching his leg out until trainers were able to make it to him and assist.

While Newman stood there helping him, both teams applauded him for his act of selflessness, helping Verdi even though he was on the other team.

The Minnesota State High School League shared the moment on social media where fans praised Newman for his act of selflessness.
