It's the return of Pride Weekend in the Twin Cities, after being canceled entirely last year due to the pandemic. Organizers say while there will be no parade or fireworks this year, there are still a number of events planned, including the annual festival in Loring Park on Saturday and Sunday.
300 vendors will be dealing in everything from food to clothing and, something new this year according to Pride Vice President Felix Foster.
"At least three of the vendors will be doing COVID vaccines as well. So we're asking that everyone wear a mask if you feel comfortable, but they're not required. Be social distancing, don't come out if you're feeling sick but if you're feeling good please do. If you want to get vaccinated you can do that here."
Foster says that you may notice some changes, but that the Pride festival will feel very familiar.
"Even with our social distancing, we're still going to have at least 300 vendors here. They'll be the food courts, the beer gardens, all of the different organizations that you know and love to come out and see. And then, of course, the wonderful space in the park being in Loring Park, being able to hang out."
The weekend kicks off tonight with the annual Beer Dabbler at the Sculpture Garden. More details on all the events at TCPride.com
