Pro-life activist gather at the State Capitol in St. Paul calling for the repeal of what they call Minnesota's “pro abortion” laws.
"The March for Life," it's what brought hundreds from around the state to the Capitol, bringing with them life-size models of unborn babies strewn across the steps.
And it came with strong opinions about Minnesota's abortion policies.
"And it's like, you know, from conception to death, conception to birth, and how can you not agree with that," asked one activist. "Conception is the baby starts at that point. How can you say no?"
"I believe that all life begins at conception and should be protected," said another.
"This isn't kind of one side versus another, this is we really want to care for both a mother and a child," one woman tells WCCO Radio.
Advocates say they're seeking to rebuild a pro-life Minnesota but can only do it through the combined efforts of their supporters.
"14,174 babies lost to abortion in our state in 2023," says co-executive Director of Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life Cathy Blaeser, who opened up the remarks at on the capitol steps. "Governor Walz and his DFL trifecta have taken us from the land of 10,000 lakes to the land of 14,000 abortions.""
The gathering included some state legislators including Republican State Senators Robert Farnsworth (Hibbing) and Mark Koran (North Branch).
