Ramsey County and St. Paul city leaders are celebrating the opening of the new county government center in downtown St. Paul's Metro Square Building.
The county has been gradually moving services and staff from its Kellogg Boulevard location over the last several weeks.
Ramsey County Board Chair Rafael Ortega says the new location is more welcoming and user-friendly for residents.
"Ensuring that people can access services they need with clarity and dignity," Ortega says. "At the same time, we know investments like the government center have helped contribute to a more dynamic downtown."
The new Ramsey County Government Center consolidates employees who had been scattered in several different buildings across the city.
