A school bus involved in a crash this morning on the freeway.

It happened around 8:00 a.m. on 35W in Mounds View. Southbound lanes in the area of County Road 10 are blocked.

WCCO Radio traffic reporter Jerry Peterson says they don't believe there are serious injuries but ambulances are on the scene but there is no official word on injuries.

"There was another vehicle involved in this, and that might have been where the injuries were, but what I'm understanding is that there were no injuries to the kids," Peterson explains. "They were on the bus. They are now being transferred on to another bus that has arrived on the scene."

Peterson says traffic lanes are blocked are you're having to use the right shoulder and right lane.

"Things are backed up toward Highway 10, and it could be a while before things are cleared out of the way," says Peterson. "I'm going to imagine that State Patrol do an investigation after the crash is cleared out of the way because there was the bus and maybe a commercial vehicle involved in this.

Expect that area to stay busy for a while yet with traffic on Hwy 10 Eastbound jammed past Airport Rd. to 35W.
