It's 16 months in prison for a former state senator from Grand Rapids charged in a child sex sting in Bloomington last year.
Justin Eichorn was busted by undercover officers who had posed as a 17-year old girl he tried repeatedly to meet for sex.
"Today he told the judge, quote, What I did was both morally wrong and a serious crime, and I accept full responsibility," Eichorn's attorney Brent Hannafan said outside the courtroom. "I have no one to blame but myself."
According to the criminal complaint, Eichorn texted a number found in an online prostitution ad and asked about prices of various sex acts.
The ad was placed by the Bloomington Police Department earlier that month amid a targeted operation to combat commercial sex trafficking.
14 men were arrested during that sting by Bloomington Police.
Eichorn will serve his sentence at a federal prison in Duluth. He'll then be on supervised release for five years.
