A difficult turn of events for the family of real estate broker killed in 2019.

Lyndon Wiggins has been convicted twice of orchestrating the murder of Monique Baugh. She was lured to a fake house showing in Maple Grove, then kidnapped in a U-Haul and killed.

Wiggens was supposed to have been sentenced to life without parole Friday afternoon, but the defense filed a last-minute motion for another trial.

Monique's mother spoke to reporters after the proceedings ended.

"That's what we showed up for, but what we got was more shenanigans from his defense attorney, if you want to call her that," she explains. "I don't think we'll ever have closure."

The judge said he had to look at the file before sentencing Wiggens. There's no word on when a new hearing will be held.

"But as far as actual closure, I don't think we'll ever have closure," adds Baugh's mother. "I mean, how do you get that?"
