Ramsey county attorney John Choi calls it a brazen activity that will not be tolerated.

His office yesterday charged six people in the November 26, 2021 organized robbery spree at Best Buy stores in Maplewood, Burnsville and Blaine.

Investigators estimate the total value of all that was stolen on that Black Friday to be more than $26,000.

The heist included television sets, tablets, other electronics and a hoverboard.

“This brazen act by an organized group shocked those who witnessed it first-hand as well as the retail community and law-abiding shoppers who were out making purchases ahead of the busy holiday season,” said Choi.

“Bringing these individuals to justice sends a message that this type of activity will not be tolerated," he said. "Our thanks go out to our partners in law enforcement for their hard work in unraveling this complex investigation.”

Four of the people charged with felony theft were adults; three from the Twin Cities.

The other two who were charged are both 17 years old.

According to the Ramsey County attorney's office, 27-year-old Nathaniel Spears of Albany, Minn. will make his next appearance in Ramsey County District Court on February 15 via Zoom, while a warrant has been issued for the three remaining adults.

Spears was booked into the Ramsey County jail on Thursday and was released on bond.

There are warrants out for the arrest of the other adults, two from Minneapolis and one from Bloomington.
