Slippery roadways reported Sunday morning in the Twin Cities after about an inch of snow fell overnight.

Because of cold temperatures, the snow was sticking and packed down on some streets and roads to create slick conditions.

MnDOT's street maps show snowplows are out in much of the state.

The southern third of the state appears to have been spared any kind of substantial snow accumulation.

The worst of the snowfall happened in the northern third of the state, with reports of six inches coming in from northwestern Minnesota and forecasts of even more along the north shore of Lake Superior.
