That heavy, wet snow causing some problems at the IDS Center downtown Minneapolis Thursday afternoon.

WCCO's Susie Jones reports a security guard that is stopping people from entering the building and the Crystal Court, and having them redirect so they're not inside the middle of the courtyard.

Jones reports she talked to a couple of people getting detoured who explained the early-season wet snow caused pieces of the ceiling to come off.

"It's kind of bizarre, but when you live in Minnesota, you expect a little bizarre," one says.

We're a long ways from over 20 inches of snow back in 1991 but this snow on Halloween is still causing some issues.

There are also multiple power outages reported in the area with the heavy snow causing powerline issues.

Students at Wayzata high school were dismissed early due to a power outage.

XCel Energy is reporting 345 outages during the 4:00 p.m. hour impacting more than 7,800 customers.
