St. Paul Police investigate first homicide of the year after a deadly stabbing in Frogtown

St. Paul Police are investigating their first homicide of the year after a deadly stabbing in Frogtown.

The male suspect called police to report the killing at around 3:10 p.m Wedensday and was found covered in blood at a home on the 400 block of Central Avenue West.

Police discovered a woman, believed to be his wife, suffering from a stab wound and transported her to the hospital where she was ultimately pronounced dead.

"This is our first homicide of the year," says St. Paul Sergeant Toy Vixayvong. "Last year in 2024 we were at four. That man is now in custody but has yet to be charged. The suspect had called and stated someone had killed his wife, and when officers got there, they located him covered in blood."

That man is now in custody but has yet to be charged. Another adult and a small child were also found inside the home but were unharmed.
