The 2024 Minnesota State Fair already has set two daily attendance records.
And there are still ten days to go to break the all-time mark set in 2019.
After more than 138,000 flocked to the historic fairgrounds in Falcon Heights for Thursday's opening day, a total of 171,233 were there the following day.
That's about 7,000 more than the previous high for the first Friday of the state fair, set a year ago.
Saturday's attendance fell short of setting a record, but still, 184,564 came through the gates on a warm day.
Through the first three days of the latest edition of the Great Minnesota Get-Together, attendance is at 494,672.
And they keep coming, despite the climbing temperature and oppressive humidity.
"It feels a LOT hotter than 86 at the fairgrounds today," one fair-goer posted on social media on Saturday. "I melted."
Fair officials say 138,326 people passed through the gates on Thursday, surpassing the opening day record of more than 133,000 set in 2019.
Those numbers came on a day that was relatively cool and with a significant amount of rain during the afternoon, things that can normally keep attendance down.
Some years you can practically double that number on the weekend depending on the weather, and this weekend looks to be ideal if a bit hot. 270,426 came on the second Saturday of the fair in 2018, so this Thursday's number is still pretty low comparatively.
2,126,551 people came to the fair in 2019 which is the all-time attendance record, so you've got a ways to go Minnesota.
Nearly all the fair's attendance records have come since 2017 with only a Sunday in 1994 standing up to current numbers.
Minnesota's State Fair is easily the most-attended fair in the nation per day (Texas is higher overall but lasts a full month).
Fair officials are reminding folks they can bring their own water bottles, and they're encouraging them to take advantage of the eight misting stations on the grounds, as well as the air conditioned buildings in some of the newer areas.
