A teenager is in custody after a shooting left two teens dead last week in Brooklyn Park.

16-year-old Diriye Abdi Muhumed died at the scene of the shooting back on October 31 in Brooklyn Park. Another victim, 16-year-old Chardid Hachi Farah, was taken to the hospital, where he died on Friday.

Brookyln Park Police announced that a 16-year-old male was arrested Sunday and was being held for second-degree murder. Investigators add the suspect knew both of the victims and that the shooting was not random.

The investigation has revealed that the individuals involved were known to each other, and this was not a random crime.

Officers of the Brooklyn Park Police Department were dispatched to a shooting in the 7200-block of Zane Ave N. Upon the officers' arrival, they located two male victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Emergency medical care was administered by first responders. One victim was pronounced deceased at the scene, while the second victim was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
