Minnesota Governor Tim Walz is calling attention to major updates needed at the 136-year old Minneapolis Veterans Home.
The home is asking that 12.8 million be included in Walz's $982 million dollar Infrastructure proposal to take care of the most severe infrastructure needs including a crumbling foundation and major HVAC repairs
Walz says Minnesota owes it to the veterans living there to make sure the space is up to date
"This one in particular is our veteran's home. It is aged, as I said I think you are going to see some of these buildings some of them one hundred and thirty years old and it just takes money to up keep them," Walz says " It's not going to get any cheaper and we think this is a smart investment."
The home is also requesting another $16 million for renovation of their rehabilitation building.
