After missing the last 40 games due to a right hip strain, Minnesota Twins centerfielder Byron Buxton was reinstated Saturday ahead of the team's second game in a three game series against the Texas Rangers.
Buxton is coming off a three-game stint with the Twins Triple-A affiliate in St. Paul where he went 5-for-9 (.556) with one double, one triple, two home runs, seven RBI, four runs scored and a 2.139 OPS.
To make room for Buxton, the Twins optioned catcher/infielder Willians Astudillo to Triple-A St. Paul.
