Two people were shot at the Mall of America Friday afternoon. It happened late in the afternoon, and Bloomington Police say the two victims WILL survive. Parts of the Mall went on lockdown after the gunfire.
A News Talk 830 WCCO listener, Joe was picking up an order from the mall when he was told host Tom Hauser about what was going on.
"As I was outside of the mall, a lot of people had mentioned they heard shooting and heard noises that sounded like gunfire."
Joe said police presence was significant shortly after the incident.
"I came out of the east side of the mall and on the front side of the mall, kind of the Ikea side, you could see a significant presence of cop cars, probably over 50. They were blocking the entrances. It looked like they had quite a bit of, and this might have been them just being proactive, ambulances and emergency crews positioned in the Ikea parking lot area."
Social media posts showed some of the aftermath of the shooting. One particular tweet showed one of the gunshot victims receiving help for his injuries.
No reports of arrests as police say they believe the suspects have fled the mall.
