The Union Gospel Mission Twin Cities is giving away all the fixings for a holiday meal to thousands of people.
Sharri Wallace is among the volunteers handing out the frozen birds, stuffing, potatoes, and all the trimmings.
"This year our emphasis is on love,” Wallace tells WCCO’s Susie Jones. “If you have someone in need, give them some help and tell them about the Union Gospel Mission."

Wallace says they have set up four lanes at their headquarters in St. Paul for folks to drive up and get their groceries and head home to start preparing for the holiday.
"We want those groceries to get home, the turkey to go in the oven and the potatoes to be boiling in the pot," Wallace said.
Traffic was backed up last year, and Wallace said they have asked for help from the St. Paul police department to keep the lines moving.
As far as the groceries, she says they planned ahead.
"We still have our potato farmer who gives us his misshapen potatoes, and we ordered our turkeys back in February,” says Wallace.
“We're not worried about the supply chain issues that are currently causing problems for others."
Union Gospel Mission is giving out about 4,000 grocery bags of food, enough to feed 20,000 people. There are around 150 volunteers working the two-day event.
You can still register to get the food at UGM's webpage.
