Some new information Tuesday afternoon on the discovery of three dead bodies inside an Inver Grove Heights home earlier this week.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner has identified the three victims as 43-year-old Jamie Lee Charles, 22-year-old Jaymison Shaw, and 19-year-old Willie Shaw Jr.
Police are calling it a tragic murder-suicide with Jaymison Shaw as the suspect.
A memorial for the victims has been set up outside the home, and there is a verified GoFundMe page set up for donations. That has raised over $32,000 of a $45,000 goal towards funeral and memorial costs.
Family members say they are facing unimaginable heartbreak after the sudden loss. A post on the GoFundMe reads:
"There are no words that can truly express the pain of losing three precious lives. Each of them touched the lives of so many people and brought their own unique love, joy, and memories into our family and community. Their absence has left a space that can never be filled."
The department added that this kind of situation can be very emotional for family, the community and on responding officers.
"This is a deeply tragic and heartbreaking event, and the Inver Grove Heights Police Department recognizes the profound grief this incident has caused for the community, especially for the family and loved ones of those involved. We ask the community to give those impacted by this tragedy the privacy, care, and assistance they need in the days and weeks ahead," says a statement from Inver Grove Heights PD.
Police added that if anyone is experiencing mental health crisis, or struggling with thoughts of suicide, there is help available starting with a call or text to the suicide hot line.
