For the 20th year, WCCO Radio partnered with sponsors and listeners to raise money for the Union Gospel Mission Twin Cities.

Thanks to the generosity of everyone involved, WCCO is proud to announce that over $335,000 was raised during the one day radiothon to benefit UGM.

Founded in 1902, Union Gospel Mission Twin Cities is a Christian ministry dedicated to serving people facing homelessness, poverty, or addiction in our community.  By meeting physical, spiritual, emotional, and educational needs, the mission’s goal is not just to provide a meal, but to help change lives.

Throughout the day Tuesday, WCCO hosts spoke to volunteers of the mission, and clients who rebuild their lives after homelessness, addiction, mental health issues and more.

2022 was the first year since 2019 that the radiothon was broadcast live from the Mall of America. In 2020 it was done virtually, and in 2021 it was held at Union Gospel Mission due to the pandemic.

That work begins with a meal, especially around the Thanksgiving holiday. Union Gospel Mission Twin Cities provided over 200,000 meals alone last year and the money raised contributes significant support to continuing that work.

Now with 20 years of radiothons, listeners and sponsors of WCCO have raised over $4.1 million dollars to help support those most in need in our community.
