Willmar Police say two people are dead and a third is in critical condition after a shooting Monday night.
Officers responded to the scene on NW 7th Street near Foot Lake around 8:00 p.m. The area is next to the Kandiyohi County Fairgrounds.
Police and EMS tried to save a 19- and a 20-year-old, and both men were taken to the hospital. One died in Willmar, while the other was airlifted to St. Cloud and is in critical condition.
A third 19-year-old got to the hospital in Willmar by private vehicle but also died there.
Willmar police believe it was an isolated incident and not random.
"Police do not believe there is a current public threat," says Willmar Police Captain Mike Anderson, who said the case is "very fluid."
The Willmar Police Department was assisted by the Kandiyohi Sheriff’s Office, and CentraCare Emergency Medical Services. The BCA is assisting in the investigation, which is still ongoing.
