Forest Lake police say a man was hospitalized Sunday afternoon following a police chase that ended in gunfire.
A Forest Lake Police Department press release states that officers were called to a home on a report that a 47-year-old white male was violating an order for protection. At the same time, the 911 caller said the male was armed with a gun, threatening the caller, and making statements about threatening law enforcement that arrived.
The man fled police in a vehicle. Police used a squad car to stop the vehicle in the 7000 block of North Shore Trail. Shortly thereafter, the shooting occurred.
Details about the shooting weren't revealed by Forest Lake Police Capt. Greg Weiss.
The male was taken to the hospital by air care.
Police have not said whether officers were wearing body cameras during the incident. The Minnesota BCA is investigating.
