Minnesota Twins games will remain televised on Bally Sports North for the remainder of the season despite its parent company, Diamond Sports Group, filing for bankruptcy earlier this year.

Twins president Dave St. Peter shared with News Talk 830 WCCO’s Chad Hartman today that conversations next year are focused on reaching more fans who are opting to “cut the cord.”

“If you’ve cut the cord and want to watch the games through a streaming service, we will have an option for you to watch every game in that manner,” St. Peter said. “That’s just the world we live in. That’s where so many of the eyeballs are, and we will adjust to that and have to do it quickly.”

St. Peter says Twins games could still be on Bally Sports North next spring for cable or satellite subscribers.

Major League Baseball took over production of San Diego and Arizona baseball broadcasts after their television agreements fizzled out earlier this summer.

St. Peter says the issue is bigger than just Twins games, noting that it’s industry-wide and needs to be addressed.

“We have to fix it. We have to fix it as an industry. We have to fix it as a ball club,” St. Peter said. “I am highly optimistic that in 2024, starting on opening day, we will have the widest distribution of Twins baseball on television that we’ve had for quite some time, and that will be a step in the right direction.”
