Shake Shack is giving customers a free single burger every week throughout May in celebration of National Burger Month.
The promotion runs May 1 through May 31 at participating U.S. Shake Shack locations. To redeem, customers must make a minimum $10 purchase in-store at a kiosk, online or through the Shake Shack app and enter the promo code FREEBURGER (all caps) at checkout. One free promotional burger is allowed per order.
The offer rotates weekly with a different fan-favorite single burger each period:
- May 1–10: ShackBurger
- May 11–17: SmokeShack
- May 18–24: Bacon Cheeseburger
- May 25–31: ShackBurger
Add-ons such as avocado or bacon are excluded unless they are already part of the featured burger that week. The deal does not apply to drive-thru orders, third-party delivery apps, or non-participating locations including airports, stadiums and certain other venues. While supplies last.
The New York-based chain says the giveaway is designed to let guests enjoy its most popular burgers at no extra cost after hitting the modest spending threshold.
National Burger Month, observed every May, highlights America’s love for the classic sandwich, and Shake Shack has used the occasion in past years to offer similar limited-time deals.
A separate sweepstakes tied to the promotion offers a chance to win free burgers for an entire year, though entry details are available on the company’s website.
