After 69 days of searching, Winona Police Chief Tom Williams confirmed Thursday that the remains of 26-year-old Madeline Kingsbury were found Wednesday afternoon in Fillmore County near the town of Mabel.
“Law enforcement has confirmed the remains are those of Madeline Kingsbury,” Williams said at a press conference as those present cried softly. “Unfortunately, while this discovery is not what we were hoping for, we are thankful to be able to bring Maddy home to her family.”
Williams says the father of Kingsbury’s two children, Adam Fravel, was arrested late yesterday afternoon without incident.
He’s being held on probable cause for second-degree murder.
The cause and manner of Kingsbury’s death have not yet been released. Authorities also are not releasing any details on what ultimately led to Fravel’s arrest.
