Rudy Giuliani tests positive for COVID-19 after Michigan voter hearings

NEW YORK -- Rudy Giuliani has tested positive for the "China Virus," President Trump said Sunday afternoon, a presumed reference to COVID-19. It comes just a few days after he made national headlines with a wild hearing in Lansing over unproven voter fraud.

".@RudyGiuliani, by far the greatest mayor in the history of NYC, and who has been working tirelessly exposing the most corrupt election (by far!) in the history of the USA, has tested positive for the China Virus. Get better soon Rudy, we will carry on!!!," Trump tweeted.

Giuliani, the former New York City mayor, has been Trump's personal attorney for the past several years, most recently challenging the 2020 Election results on the president's behalf.

Giuliani’s diagnosis comes a little over two weeks after his son, Andrew Giuliani, a special assistant to Trump, tested positive for the virus.

Unclear is whether anyone at the four hours of Michigan hearings on Thursday night was exposed to the virus. Giuliani led the hearings and was spotted many times without a mask while witnesses sat adjacent to him.

ABC News reported "It is unclear when exactly Giuliani tested positive or the details of his condition," although it is known that he was hospitalized for the virus.

Giuliani, 76, was admitted to MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington Sunday, sources familiar with the matter told ABC News.

For his part, the former New York City mayor tweeted Sunday night that he's feeling good.

"Thank you to all my friends and followers for all the prayers and kind wishes," Giuliani tweeted. "I’m getting great care and feeling good. Recovering quickly and keeping up with everything."
