Despite the best intentions, sometimes good deeds don’t get followed through on.

That was the case with Tekashi 6ix9ine, as the rapper was set to donate $200,000 to the No Kids Hungry charity helping feed those in need during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"During this pandemic I understand we have nurses and frontline Hero’s who risk there life daily to save others. But NEVER forget the children & families who depend on OUR PUBLIC schools for daily meals and nutritions to keep our future leaders growing to their best potential," 6ix9ine wrote in an Instagram post.

When pressed for a comment from Complex, No Kid Hungry said they won’t be accepting 6ix9ine’s donation.

"We are grateful for Mr. Hernandez’s generous offer to donate to No Kid Hungry but we have informed his representatives that we have declined this donation," No Kid Hungry Director of Strategic Communications Laura Washburn said. "As a child-focused campaign, it is our policy to decline funding from donors whose activities do not align with our mission and values."

The rapper, born Daniel Hernandez, was granted an early release from federal prison last month over fears the rapper’s health would be severely affected if he were to contract coronavirus. 6ix9nine made $2 million from his newest single “GOOBA” alongside an accompanying merch line.

"@nokidhungry rather take food out the mouth of these innocent children," 6ix9ine shared on Instagram after the announcement. "I never seen something so cruel."

The 24-year-old recently demolished the all-time record for the most viewers on an Instagram Live video. 6ix9ine had two million viewers on his stream breaking the record of 300,000 live viewers previously held by Drake and Torey Lanez.
