“Well, I’ve gone and done it – I’ve won the ‘most idiot person’ award,” said Jennifer Eversole in a TikTok video that has gone viral.

She filmed the video from the hospital, where was taken via ambulance. Eversole explained that she keeps her allergy eyedrops next to a bottle of super glue that is the same size.

“I was getting ready to do grocery pickup and I was talking to my 5-year-old, so I grabbed the bottle (off the dresser) without looking,” Eversole said in an interview, per The Press Democrat. “I went to put it in my right eye, and it wasn’t coming out at first, so I squeezed harder instead of looking at the bottle. It instantly started to burn.”

While she was in tears as she filmed, Eversole also laughed as she recounted how the hospital staff told her they’ve never had a call like hers before. However, some people who commented on her TikTok video said they had done the same thing in the past.

“Seeing how many have made that mistake with nail glue in the comments, I wish they would make the bottle different shapes,” said Eversole, who threw out her own bottle of nail glue. “I just hope somebody learns from it and doesn’t make the same mistake I did.”

According to The Press Democrat, she is a mother of six from Santa Rosa, Calif. At first, she and her fiancé attempted to get the super-strength nail glue out themselves. When that didn’t work, they called the city’s emergency number.

“Eversole says nearly a dozen firefighters and an ambulance showed up,” said the outlet. “She was transported to a local emergency room, where doctors applied antibacterial ointment and eye numbing drops before removing the glue.”

Emergency room personnel were able to cut her eyelashes and to cut the glue from between her eyelids. There is no permanent damage to her eye and Eversole is expected to retain her 20/20 vision.

Eversole usually posts about motherhood and being a survivor of domestic abuse on TikTok, as well as memes and jokes. The Press Democrat said she didn’t expect her video to go viral.

“I have pretty thick skin, but it does kind of suck when they’re talking about me as a parent, those things aren’t nice to read,” she said. “But if you’re going to go viral online, not everyone is going to be nice. That kind of attention comes with it.”

Overall, she said the experience has made her value her vision.
