A man who Saint Paul police say fired at them during a suspected carjacking Monday in St. Paul was shot dead Tuesday night at a St. Cloud gas station.
The shooting happened just before 6 p.m. Tuesday when police tracked the man down in a Speedway parking lot. According to police, the suspect exited his vehicle with a gun after law enforcement used an armored vehicle to block the man in.
According to a press release, "Multiple officers from each of the agencies fired their weapons at the suspect stopping him from further action. Officers attempted life-saving efforts with Mayo Ambulance however the suspect died on scene."
The man, whose identity has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene. A woman inside the man's vehicle suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital.
The Minnesota BCA is investigating.
