Minnesota sixth district congressman Tom Emmer says he fully supports House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, and has zero interest in palace intrigue.
The House Republican whip made that statement to the Washington Post as GOP hardliners are reportedly planning an attempt to oust McCarthy.
Some of those far-right members reportedly believe Emmer is more attuned to their concerns and would lead conservative issues in the lower chamber.
Emmer is one of McCarthy's key allies in the US House.
