A man is dead and there are no arrests in the Saturday night shooting death of a man in the Payne-Phalen neighborhood of St. Paul.
It happened just before midnight Saturday, when police received a report of multiple shots being fired in the 1000 block of York Avenue.
Officers found the wounded man there, and he later died of his injuries.
St. Paul police spokesman Steve Linders says they have little information to work with right now.
"We need people to tell us what they saw, what they know, what they've heard," he said. "So far, the people we've talked to, for the most part, have been uncooperative. Hopefully, they'll come around. People sometimes want to share information at different times."
Linders says it does appear the victim and suspect knew each other.
This is the 34th reported homicide of the year in St. Paul, tied for the most in one year since records have been kept.
