Minneapolis police have identified the apparent homicide victim whose body parts were found in two separate locations on Thursday in the Saint Anthony West neighborhood.
The remains of 36-year-old Adam Richard Johnson were found at Northeast Main Street and Third Avenue, as well as Third Avenue Northeast and University Avenue.
"We did go over all of our missing persons reports," said Minneapolis city spokesman John Elder. "He was identified independent of that."
Elder said police believe Johnson was from Minneapolis.
Police say some body parts are still missing, and the exact cause of death has not been determined.
They are asking the public's help in finding out what led to Johnson's death, although Elder said investigators are "making headway."
