It's unofficially the first long weekend of the summer, and Minnesota roadways will be filled with motorists looking to get away for a few days.
MnDOT's JP Gillach says this might be the busiest Memorial Day weekend traffic in two years.
"Travel patterns have changed with the pandemic," Gillach said. "We are seeing travel patterns coming up to pre-pandemic levels. So, we are expecting this to be more of a traditional Minnesota Memorial Day travel weekend."
There are several roads blocked off because of construction projects, which are listed on the MnDOT website.
