Courteney Cox is opening up about the memories she doesn’t have from the set of “Friends.”

While Monica Gellar may have been a crucial member of the friends group, the 57-year-old admits that her memory of filming the comedy series is spotty.

During an extended "Sunday Sitdown" interview with Willie Geist, the actress quipped that it would’ve been helpful to re-watch episodes before taping the “Friends” reunion special.

“I should’ve watched all ten seasons because when I did the reunion and was asked questions, I was like, ‘I don’t remember being there,’” she quipped, adding, “Yeah. I don’t remember filming so many episodes."

"I see it on TV sometimes and I stop and go, 'Oh my God, I don’t remember this at all,'" she said while admitting that she finds the show “so funny.”

Cox chalked up not having any recollection of the filming to “bad memory.”
"It’s really basic," she laughed. "I don’t remember any trauma in my childhood, but I have, like, three memories. I don’t know. I don't know why."

Cox revealed that her bad memory is the reason why she’s “bummed” that she didn’t “spend more time taking pictures.”

“Because I don’t have a lot to look back at," she explained.

Cox also admitted that she didn’t realize how popular and life-changing the show was going to be, but she does recall traveling to Las Vegas with the cast and the director, James “Jim” Burrows,” who told them to enjoy the moment before becoming famous.

“He gave us all $500. And he said, ‘I want you to take care, like, really take notice of this moment because it will be the last time that all six of you together can walk through a casino,'" she said.

She continued: "And we were like, “Really?” And it was true. We never could never do that (again).”

"I mean, I don’t wanna sound like, ‘Look at us.’ We’re not, you know, the Beatles. But people feel like they know you," she continued. "If we were all to walk down the street, six of us, it would be, I think it would be really interesting to people.”

Cox, Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry, David Schwimmer, and Matt Le Blanc reunited for a nostalgic HBO Max special in May 2021.
