Indianapolis, Ind. (WGR Sports Radio 550) - Thanks to clutch defense and big time plays on third down from the offense, the Buffalo Bills kept up their winning ways on Sunday in a 30-20 win over the Indianapolis Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium.
The Bills defense forced four turnovers of the Colts offense, which included three interceptions of quarterback Joe Flacco, and another strip-sack in the second half. One of those picks ended up resulting in six points on the first offensive play of the game for Indianapolis.
However, Bills quarterback Josh Allen had his own struggles on Sunday, throwing two more interceptions, while connecting on 22-of-37 passing for 280 yards. He also added a rushing touchdown in the second quarter to give the Bills a lead they did not relinquish.
Allen understands that beating a conference opponent on the road is massive for the Bills' success going forward. However, there is still more work to be done on the offensive side of the ball, especially with the Kansas City Chiefs coming to town next Sunday afternoon.
"Guys stepping up, knowing they're knowing their job, knowing their assignment, and going out there and executing can be cleaner", said Allen during his postgame press conference with the media. "Just making sure we're communicating well, and just trying to hold on the football. We've got to play better on offense.
"It's awesome to get eight wins through 10 games. Still got a lot of season left, so we're not really looking at it as that. It's just really on to the next one."
