Orchard Park, N.Y. (WGR 550) - The Buffalo Bills hosted the Las Vegas Raiders for their 2023 home opener in Week 2 of the season on Sunday at Highmark Stadium. After a Week 1 collapse against the New York Jets this past Monday, the Bills responded with a drubbing of the Raiders, 38-10.
Bills quarterback Josh Allen had a much better performance for his team in Week 2, completing 31-of-37 pass attempts for 274 yards and three touchdowns.
Sunday felt, to many, like a much-needed response from Allen after throwing three interceptions and losing a fumble against the Jets. Despite Monday's rough outing, Allen feels he took that game as fuel to be better this week.
With this game man, it gives you the lowest lows, it gives you the highest highs, but I love feeling how I felt last week. ... It makes the good feel that much better," said Allen following Sunday's victory in Orchard Park. "It forces us to be better. I want to be the best I can be playing this game, and being the best quarterback I can be for the Buffalo Bills. I take the bad with the good, I understand it, and I'm just trying to let it fuel me and use it to my benefit."

Along with Allen's improvement from Week 1, the entire offense appeared locked in with a more effective running game, and a sound blocking performance.
"The more that we can hand off to 'Jimbo' [James Cook] and these guys, they're getting five-to-six yards a pop staying in front of the chains, putting us in 2nd-and-short situations. Now we can hand it off again or take a shot," Allen said. "We can throw it short and get the first down. There's just a lot of options we get when we can run the ball like that. Huge ups for our [offensive] line today and for our running backs running the ball."
The Bills defense also had themselves a day, forcing three Raiders turnovers throughout the game. Allen realized how important those turnovers are, and how they can help turn the tide of a game.
"Turnovers in this game, we know it well. They have the most impact on the gam," McDermott said. "When your defense can go out there and force turnovers... it puts your offense in great field position. We gotta go out there and convert on those turnovers, and make sure we take advantage of that."
