Orchard Park, N.Y. (WGR Sports Radio 550) - In the hours after being formally introduced as head coach of the Buffalo Bills, Joe Brady has began putting his coaching staff together, with one of his biggest hires being in the work.
WGR Bills beat reporter Sal Capaccio says Friday that the Bills are set to hire Pete Carmichael Jr. as Brady's offensive coordinator in Buffalo.
Carmichael brings a plethora of experience into the role, as he spent the last two seasons as a senior offensive assistant in Denver with Broncos head coach Sean Payton. Carmichael was also Payton's offensive coordinator in New Orleans with the Saints from 2009-23, where they ended up winning a Super Bowl together in 2009.
He first joined Payton's staff in New Orleans in 2006 when he served as the quarterbacks coach.
The 54-year-old has been a coach at the NFL level since 2000, and has spent time with several organizations, including the Cleveland Browns, Washington Redskins, San Diego Chargers, Saints and Broncos.
This hiring comes after the Bills were reported to be hiring former Pittsburgh Steelers offensive line coach Pat Meyer in the same role in Buffalo.
