Orchard Park, N.Y. (WGR 550) - Because you never get a second chance to make a first impression, Buffalo Bills rookies certainly wanted to do that when their rookie minicamp began on Friday.
All rookies, some first-year players, and several players who are on a tryout basis were on the field for about an hour-and-a-half just outside the ADPRO Sports Training Center at One Bills Drive.
While second-round pick Keon Coleman was the main focus for most of the media on-hand, there were plenty of other players and storylines to go with them.
Fellow second-rounder safety Cole Bishop got his first chance to step into the roles vacated by Jordan Poyer and Micah Hyde, and running back Frank Gore Jr. - wearing a Bills uniform just five years after his dad did - drew plenty of attention on the field and in front of cameras afterward.
Alex McNulty, who went to high school in Rochester and played his college football at the University at Buffalo, is among those in attendance this weekend on a tryout basis as a kicker.
And, of course, there's a player with the actual last name of the team, undrafted free agent Keaton Bills, an offensive lineman from Utah. He's also wearing the No. 60, which was the first year of play for the Bills, starting in the old AFL.
