The 23-year-old wide receiver brings more size to the wide receiver room in Buffalo at 6-foot-4 and 223 pounds.
Here is what NFL analyst Chad Reuter had to say about the native f Monmouth Junction, New Jersey:
"Shorter earned second-team USA Today All-USA honors and New Jersey's Offensive Player of the Year his senior season at South Brunswick High School. He was rated the top receiver prospect in the country before signing with Penn State for 2018 but redshirted that fall (3-20-6.7 in four games) because he missed midseason contests due to injury. He played in 10 games with five starts for the Nittany Lions in 2019 (12-137-11.4) but fought through injuries and was benched after dropping passes during the season. Then he entered the transfer portal. Florida snapped him up for 2020, when he scored three touchdowns (25-268-10.7) in 10 games as a reserve with the Gators. Taking over a starting role for 12 of 13 games played in 2021, Shorter caught 41 passes for 550 yards (13.4 per) and another three scores. He was limited to nine starts as a senior (29-577-19.9, two TDs) because of a hamstring injury that hampered him the second half of the year."
Shorter is the second player from the University of Florida drafted by the Bills in the 2023 NFL Draft. He joins guard O'Cyrus Torrence, who was drafted 59th overall in Round 2 of the draft.
