Orchard Park, N.Y. (WGR) - The Buffalo Bills have announced the addition of 17 players to their practice squad on Monday.

A total of 14 players that were on the roster before Sunday's roster cut-down day were signed to the practice squad, including a number of notable names like quarterback Shane Buechele, running back Frank Gore Jr., wide receivers Ja'Mori Maclin and Trent Sherfield Sr., linebacker Keonta Jenkins and cornerback Kani Walker.

However, three players that were not on the Bills' training camp or preseason roster were signed to the practice squad: Wide receiver Greg Dortch, linebacker Shaq Thompson and offensive tackle Jedrick Wills Jr.

Dortch was released on Sunday by the Detroit Lions after signing with the team during the offseason.

The 28-year-old is a former undrafted free agent out of Wake Forest University, and has been more seen as a return specialist in his time in the NFL with the Carolina Panthers and Arizona Cardinals. Over his six-plus years in the league, Dortch has averaged 23.6 yards per-kick return and 8.9 yards per-punt return.

Dortch also reunites with special teams coordinator Jeff Rodgers, who he had played for with the Cardinals over the last five seasons.

Wills Jr. joins the Bills' practice squad after being released by the Chicago Bears as part of their roster cuts on Sunday.

The 27-year-old was a former first-round pick (10th overall) of the Cleveland Browns in the 2020 NFL Draft. Wills Jr. went on to play five seasons with the Browns, with the final two years of his career being injury-riddled, playing just 13 of a possible 34 games.

Wills Jr. actually sat out the entire 2025 season before signing a contract with the Bears this past March.

As for Thompson, he returns to the organization after playing 12 games with the Bills in 2025, registering 56 combined tackles, six tackles for loss, a sack, two passes defended and a forced fumble.

This is the 32-year-old's 12th NFL season after being a first-round pick (25th overall) of the Carolina Panthers in the 2015 NFL Draft out of the University of Washington. He spent the first 10 years of his career all with the Panthers.

The Bills full roster is now maximized with 53 active players and 17 on the practice squad.
