Buffalo Bills general manager Brandon Beane met with the media on Friday afternoon following a number of moves made by the team this week, including the signing of veteran pass rusher Von Miller and the release of wide receiver Cole Beasley.

One of the more interesting topics Beane got into was on Friday was the situation surrounding running back J.D. McKissic, who was originally set to sign with Buffalo on a two-year deal. However, the free agent-to-be changed his mind and re-signed with his original team, the Washington Commanders.
Beane says the Bills and McKissic had a deal in place, but thing broke down when Washington kept pushing to convince McKissic to stay.
"That was tough," Beane admitted on Friday. "His agents did a great job. There were some things that went down with the other organization, which is painful. They chose to do what they did, and I couldn't stop it.
"Once you have an agreement, the agent is supposed to say, 'It’s over,' and this agent did that. This agent told the other club it's over, but the other club didn’t back off."
Beane then responded to a question about whether or not this complicates things with an organization in Washington, which he has many connections to people from his days with the Carolina Panthers.
"Yeah, it does," Beane said.
WGR Bills beat reporter Sal Capaccio later reported, via a source, that the Commanders were not interested in re-signing McKissic. Only after it was announced he had agreed to terms with the Bills did they start re-recruiting him to return to Washington.
