Orchard Park, N.Y. (WGR 550) - One day after a very spirited and fiery practice, the Buffalo Bills were back on the field outside the ADPRO Sports Training Center, as they continue to prepare for the Steelers in their second preseason game this Saturday in Pittsburgh.

On the injury front, running back Damien Harris returned to the field for Wednesday's practice.

However, wide receiver Gabe Davis sat out with general soreness, while linebacker Baylon Spector missed with a back injury. Both are considered day-to-day.

Elsewhere, linebacker Terrel Bernard worked off to the side with trainers for the first time since being out with a hamstring injury. Also, defensive back Cam Lewis worked off to the side.

It was another fully-padded, and fairly long practice for the team on Wednesday.

The highlight of the day may have come from wide receiver Marcell Ateman, who was being covered by cornerback Kyron Brown on a pass from Matt Barkley.

In the front corner of the end zone, Ateman twisted his body around to catch it, and as he did, Brown made a play on the ball, knocking it up in the air. Ateman got back set on his feet, stuck with it, and grabbed it for a touchdown.

Barkley ran right over to congratulate him and celebrate the play.

Ateman is in a battle with several other wideouts for a spot on the roster, or maybe even the practice squad for those who don't make it. The 6-foot-4, 216-pound wideout was originally a seventh-round pick by the Oakland/Las Vegas Raiders in 2018 out of Oklahoma State University. He has also spent time with the Arizona Cardinals and St. Louis Battlehawks of the XFL.

There are three other receivers also listed at 6-foot-4, including Tyrell Shavers, Dezmon Patmon, and 2023 fifth-round draft pick Justin Shorter.

"All those guys have talent," said offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey prior to practice. "We've got a good group of receivers from top-to-bottom that have different traits, whether it's size, speed, quickness, whatever those things are. The best receivers come in all shapes and sizes. The one common thing they do, is they get open and catch the ball."

The team will be back on the field Thursday morning for another 9:30 a.m. ET practice before traveling to Pittsburgh on Friday ahead of their game Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. ET at Acrisure Stadium.
