Miami Gardens, Fla. (WGR 550) - After being cut by the Bills just last week in a number of moves to create some space on the salary cap, a pair of defensive backs have landed in South Florida with Buffalo's division rival.
According to multiple reports on Tuesday, the Miami Dolphins are set to sign former All-Pro safety Jordan Poyer to a one-year contract.
Poyer became a fan favorite during his seven seasons played with the Bills alongside longtime safety partner Micah Hyde.
In 107 games played with the Bills since signing as a free agent in 2017, Poyer recorded 682 total tackles, 15 tackles for loss, 11 sacks, 22 interceptions, eight forced fumbles and one defensive touchdown.
Poyer's best season came in 2021 when he recorded 93 tackles, eight tackles for loss, three sacks and five interceptions in 16 games played. That earned Poyer his first and only nod as a First-team All-Pro.
The 32-year-old also earned his first and only Pro Bowl nod for his 2022 season in Buffalo. Despite hitting the free agent market last offseason, Poyer elected to return to the Bills on a two-year contract.
Then on Wednesday after the opening of the new league year at 4 p.m. ET, the Dolphins announced the signing of defensive back Siran Neal to a one-year deal.
Neal was a former fifth-round pick of the Bills in the 2018 NFL Draft out of Jacksonville State, and ended up playing 97 games for the Bills in his six seasons.
The 29-year-old has been regarded as one of the best special teams gunners in the league, while recording 115 total tackles and forcing three fumbles over his career.
