East Rutherford, N.J. (WFAN/WGR 550) - New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll spent last season sharing the same clubhouse as Damar Hamlin while he was the offensive coordinator for the Buffalo Bills.
Daboll offered an emotional message of support to his former player, his former team, and Hamlin’s family on Wednesday, as the Bills safety continues to fight for his life at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

“A lot of us have been around Damar. We offer our prayers to him, to his family, to the people in that organization,” Daboll said. “They’ve been through a lot. This is tragic.”
Hamlin has been in critical condition since he had to be revived on the field after suffering a cardiac arrest following a tackle made on Monday night in a scary scene in Cincinnati.
The NFL world has rallied around Hamlin, but for those who got to know Hamlin, like Daboll, the scary incident hits especially hard.
“It’s tragic to see,” Daboll said. “I feel for Damar most importantly, for his family, but all the players and coaches that are around him every day.
He’s a tremendous young man. Just pray for a recovery.”
An emotional Daboll then paused to collect his thoughts, which have certainly been scrambled like many others who are praying for Hamlin to recover.
“It was tough,” he said.
