Buffalo Bills wide receiver John Brown was activated from Injured Reserve on Monday after being placed on I.R. following the team’s Week 10 loss to the Arizona Cardinals with an ankle injury.
However, Brown will not play in the team’s Week 16 matchup against the New England Patriots as he has been placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list, along with practice squad safety Josh Thomas and practice squad running back Christian Wade.
It was announced on Sunday that running back T.J. Yeldon had tested positive for COVID-19 and was, subsequently, placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list. After contract tracing, the team deemed that all three of Brown, Thomas and Wade were close contacts of Yeldon.
Brown will now have to go through COVID-19 protocols before he may be available for the Bills’ Week 17 matchup with the Miami Dolphins at Bills Stadium in Orchard Park.
In eight games this season, Brown has 29 receptions for 386 yards and two touchdowns.
